
The SDAT Squash World Cup took place from 9 to 14 December 2025 in Chennai, India, showcasing a thrilling mixed-team competition that brought together 12 squads from around the world. Among the participants, a total of 6 Asian teams made a significant impact, including representatives from Hong Kong China, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, and Malaysia, all vying for the prestigious title of World Cup champion. This year’s World Cup features several innovative changes that were first introduced in the 2023 tournament. Each team consists of two male and two female players. All matches will players to a best of 5 games, first to seven points and sudden death tiebreaks when scores reach 6-6. The fast-paced nature of this scoring method adds intensity to the matches and showcases the excitement of our sport.
In a historic achievement, Team India emerged as the champion, clinching the World Cup title for the very first time. Their success on the court not only exemplified their skill and determination but also marked a significant milestone in Indian squash history. Meanwhile, Team Hong Kong China and Team Japan secured the silver medal and the bronze medal respectively, while Team Malaysia also finishing in the fifth place.
The event was a resounding success, and special congratulations go to The Squash Rackets Federation of India for hosting such a memorable tournament. Their efforts in organizing the competition highlighted the growing popularity and potential of squash in the region.
