THE WORLD GAMES 2025 SQUASH EVENT CONCLUDES IN CHENGDU, CHINA WITH OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES BY ASIAN PLAYERS

The World Games 2025 squash event successfully concluded on 12 August 2025 in Chengdu, China, after five days of exhilarating matches that showcased remarkable skill from elite players worldwide. Asian countries/regions including China, Hong Kong China, Japan, and Pakistan sent representatives to participate in this quadrennial international multi-sport event. 

 

We would like to congratulate all the Asian players for their impressive performances, with five athletes securing spots in the Top 8. Special recognition goes to Satomi Watanabe, who made history by winning the first-ever Gold Medal for Team Japan in the women's singles event. Our gratitude also goes to Team China, who marked their debut in the World Games squash tournament, demonstrating their commitment to the sport.

 

The success of the World Games 2025 squash event in Chengdu has established a new benchmark for future competitions. This year's tournament also served as a vital preparation for the 2028 LA Olympic Games, where squash will be prominently featured in this prestigious multi-sport games for the first time ever.

 

As we celebrate these achievements, we look forward to the continued growth of squash in Asia and the exciting journey ahead toward the Olympics.
